• Military university resumes also the research activities after overcoming the pandemics period. Thus, the scientific society by launching two international conferences on the same day, 9 June 2021, covering military technologies and security and strategy, respectively.
One of the activities is the eighth issue of the International Conference on Military Technologies (ICMT). It used to accompany IDET international exhibition every other year and for the first time the conference is held independently on the grounds of the University of Defence. “I strongly believe the necessary contacts or connection between science and research and the defence industry companies remain” said Faculty of Military Technology dean Colonel Vlastimil Neumann in his opening speech.
The ending but still existing restrictions have made the conference take a hybrid form. Some participants have attended in person while others may connect via network. All could follow the opening presentation given by Alexander Kravcov titled Additional Manufacturing and Innovative Methods of Nondestructive Inspection for Defence Industry. Then the participants divided into sections to follow papers presenting innovative ideas in the range from space technology to military cybernetics.
The other activity launched on Wednesday was the sixth issue of International Defence & Strategy Conference that serves as a platform for meeting and opinion or experience exchange among the academics, military professionals and politicians on the topics of contemporary conflicts, modern warfare or strategic thinking development. Held by the Centre of Security and Military Strategic Studies under the University of Defence the conference has taken a distance form.
