06/09/2021 • On 8 June 2021, the only Czech military university hosted the ceremony of signing the cooperation framework agreement between University of Defence and the National Cyber and Information Security Agency. The signature actors were the Agency Director Karel Řehka and University Rector-Commandant Brigadier General Zuzana Kročová in the presence of Agency’s Deputy Director Lukáš Kintr, Director Secretary Jaroslav Compeľ and University’s vice-rectors Colonel Pavel Foltin, Colonel Petr Hrůza and Colonel Jan Bořil.
Both sides of the agreement aim the cooperation at supporting and developing the education, research, development and innovation effort in forming the experts for national administration as well as business sector in the control of processes related to secure cyber defence of information systems. The cooperation will consist mutual teaching, joint topics for Bachelor and/or diploma theses, innovation of study programmes at the university, supporting participation in learning, promotion and other events concerning cyber security. Joint research projects or cooperation in cyber security exercises will make another important section of the cooperation.
Following the agreement signing ceremony, the representatives of the two institutions sat for a working meeting to discuss the education of experts in cyber security for the National Cyber and Information Security Agency as provided by the University of Defence. They were the following: Education, Research, and Project Department director Luboš Fendrych and head of Education Unit Petr Seifert on behalf of the Agency, and Faculty of Military Technology dean Colonel Vlastimil Neumann, Faculty of Military Leadership vice-dean Jakub Odehnal, head of Informatics and Cyber Operations Department Colonel Petr Františ on behalf of the University, along with more members of the teaching staff.
