• From 1 to 5 October 2018, the 5th regular Reception, Staging and Onward Movement (RSOM) Course takes place at the University of Defense. It is an orientation course arranged in the cooperation of the Department of Logistics of the Faculty of Military Leadership and of Multinational Logistics Coordination Center (MLCC). A similar course took place in Montenegro in 2018, successfully completed by the mobile team consisted of the representatives of Logistics Department and MLCC.
Opened by Colonel Jan Husak, MLCC Director, and Colonel Pavel Folting, Head of Logistics Department, the course focuses on the RSOM procedures, their importance, and on improving the ability to solve problems in this area. It mainly aims at familiarizing the NATO member countries officers with RSOM planning procedures and their implementation.
A total of 20 participants from eleven countries (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Great Britain, Norway, Latvia, Greece and Canada) participate in the orientation course. They listened to the lectures given exclusively in English, mainly by the members of the Logistics Department, including PhD students, and by the MLCC members. Very helpful were the excellent presentations by Cpt. Martin Skvaril (22nd Helicopter Air Force Base in Náměšť nad Oslavou), Ltc. Petr Hlavizna (Intelligence Support Department), Maj. Ivo Dumisinec (Tactics Department) or by Col. (ret.) Roman Dufek, Ph.D. (MLCC).
